Five Quick Tips to Keep Your Family Healthy:

Wash your hands regularly

This helps keep you healthy and sets a great example for your children to follow. Wash your hands regularly with soap. This ensures that dirt, germs, and other gross organic material are removed from your hands and reduces the likelihood of them entering your body. Having your kids do this at school and at home will greatly help prevent the spread of germs.

Check your vaccinations

Keep up with vaccines to allow for your body’s immune system to build antibodies. These antibodies stay in your body and allow for your immune system to fight the disease.  Some vaccines require multiple rounds of shots or annual shots. These rounds and annuals help you fight against new strains and variations of bacteria, viruses, and disease. Here is a link from the CDC of recommended vaccinations for children 18 and younger:

Germ etiquette

Washing your hands is one of the most effective means to remove germs. Try adding these other germ etiquettes to prevent their spread

  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue
  • Don’t share food or drinks with other people
  • If you are sick, stay at home

Regularly cleaning

Germs primarily spread through hand contact. Regularly clean major touch points such as light switches, remotes, phones, kitchen counters and other surfaces.  A critical and often forgotten step to cleaning is to correctly follow the instructions on disinfectant and cleaning chemical labels.

Healthy lifestyle

A well-balanced diet, a full nights sleep, and regular activity are all great ways to encourage personal and family health.  For most people, the body is amazingly resilient at preventing and responding to bacteria and viruses that cause sickness. The better you take care of your body the better your body can take care of you.
